Who we are

Loveworld Birmingham (Christ Embassy Birmingham) is a church based at 38 Smith Street, Newtown, Birmingham B19 3EN, United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this notice. You can contact us at +44 7482 299317 or by writing to us at the address above.

What we collect

When you fill in a form on this website, we collect only what you give us:

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, financial details or identity documents through this website.

Prayer requests

If you write a prayer request, it is read only by our pastoral team and is treated in confidence. We will not publish it, read it aloud, or share it outside that team without asking you first.

Please share only what you are comfortable putting in writing. If you tell us something about your health or other personal circumstances, we will treat it with care, but a web form is not a secure or confidential channel in the way a conversation is. If a request suggests someone is at risk of serious harm, we may need to act on it.

Why we use it and our lawful basis

We use your details for one purpose only: to contact you about our own services, online events and special programmes, by email and, if you gave us a number, by WhatsApp. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the sign-up form. We do not use your details for any other purpose, and we do not build profiles of you.

Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or share your details with any other church, organisation or individual for their own purposes.

We use trusted service providers to store our records and send our emails, and your details are held within their systems on our behalf. These are Google (for our spreadsheet records and email) and Mailchimp (for sending bulk email). Both may process data outside the United Kingdom, under safeguards approved for international transfers.

How long we keep it

We keep your details for as long as you want to hear from us. If you unsubscribe, or ask us to delete your details, we remove them from our mailing list promptly and keep only the minimum record needed to make sure we do not email you again by mistake. If you have not opened any of our emails for two years, we will remove you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us to:

To exercise any of these, contact us using the details above. We will respond within one month. You will never be charged for making a request.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies to track you. Some pages load fonts and icons from Google and unpkg, and our events page includes a Meta (Facebook) advertising pixel which may set cookies when it is active. You can block cookies in your browser settings without affecting your ability to use this site.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant we will tell you by email.
